YOUNG THINKER PRIZE
This essay contest for young thinkers is sponsored by the 1517 Fund and the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) and is available to anyone in the Continental United States age 23 or under at the time of submission. The winning essayist will receive a $1,000 cash prize and a trip to Washington, DC to be recognized formally at the NOVITATE Dinner Banquet on the evening of November 3, 2023. The winner’s registration fee for the NOVITATE Conference will also be waived.
Submissions are due August 30, 2023. A winner will be selected by September 15 and notified via email.
At the top of your essay submission paper, please include: Full Name, Date of Birth, City/State, and School Affiliation (if any).
The winning essayist will be required to attend the NOVITATE Dinner Banquet in Washington, DC on November 3, accompanied by a chaperone (if necessary due to age). The cost of the chaperone’s trip will not be covered by the prize
